Spy Camming-hows It Done

Review: In 80 books to the world-A literary journey

The blurb is clear that the present book by well-read and well-traveled graduates of the postgraduate course book at the Ludwig-Maximilian University, has been written and designed. The preface to the book written by the journalist, essayist and literary critic Feridun Zaimoglu.

In the introduction we learn that the book would like to invite you to explore the world to read and dream in this way in distant lands and foreign cultures. The tour guides the interested reader from Europe to Asia, to Oceania and from there to Africa, South America and schließlich auch nach Nordamerika.

writes Hemingway: "One day I met Joyce, of the Boulevard Saint Germain entlangkam" after he had been alone in a matinee He heard the actors to be happy, if he also could not see, he asked me.. on, something to drink with him and we went into the "Deux Magots and ordered tart sherry, although they will always read that he only drank Swiss white wine." (Quote p. 29) I like these inserted quotes from the books to be discussed, because they're more curious about the text. How nice it must be in the morning when the sun was starting to lie awake in bed in a hotel and a Saint Germain wenig  in Hemingways " "Paris - ein Fest fürs Leben" zu lesen, um anschießend  im "Deux Margot" seinen ersten Kaffee zu genießen.

My praise is the summary of One Hundred Years of Solitude "by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It certainly was not easy, given how complex the novel. It rightly points out that the novel almost an encyclopedic work. This is to sum up less than four pages and last but no significance, is a masterpiece. respect.

Although I just do not read much, I know most of the discussed Novels are not, and certainly not those that are listed in the short discussions to continue traveling. The book reviews make me very curious about the foreignness described in Oceania, that paradise that inspired me most. Returning through the back door, "I will read for sure. It is a satire that plays on Tonga in the South Pacific. The author epilator Hau `ofa was the private secretary of the King of Tonga.

also Ahdaf Soueif, "The Map of Love" I want to read. The love story that is told seems to be gripping.

My review, I would like to end with a quote that comes from a book which has been discussed on pages 171 ff. It is a passage from "Crime of the Day to the Night" by Yamina Khadra, the I find so moving that I want to tell her: "What is love, if it grants only pain How good are their myths and legends, victories and wonder if the lovers are unable to grow beyond itself, the anger? to face the sky, to let go of the eternal happiness for a kiss, a hug, a moment around? " (Quotation p. 174)

Recommended, because the book arouses curiosity, stimulates to dream and actually contains exemplary book reviews.

How To Get Siverware And China Apraised

Frau Doktor Merkel wollte keinen wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter

Our course, PhD Chancellor stressed that it had appointed a defense minister and no scientific staff in the government.

reminds me of a former coach of the Chinese women's swimming squad. When asked if he could not find strange that all his women have increased muscle and hair growth and a striking deep voice, he answered: The girls should not swim, sing!

thought until a few days, I just, our Defence Minister to be a spineless slimy liar and plagiarist. Now that the votes of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group called for a study of its instruction to the academic Service of the Federal Parliament as part of his dissertation was postponed, I'm really upset. Since it is hardly relevant, that the Lord Minister the results of research financed by me, of course, not marked as a quotation.

And this man is to remain federal minister? But, that will be discussed more seriously needs to make me angry. Since it is not actually about his crappy dissertation, or it that the arrogant upstart slick has returned his Ph.D. (which incidentally you can not), shortly before he stripped the title. I also know others who have a Ph.D. from surreptitiously and unobtrusive, bought and laughable sham Dissertations have written. I just do not want that kind of person is allowed to continue uninhibited exercise such an office!

Review: The Divine Comedy-Dante Alighieri

About "The Divine Comedy" were already written many reviews. At Wikipedia you can learn about the content of this work adequately. That is why I refrain from wide-ranging content on this play again. This book was written by Karl Bartsch (1832-1888), translated in 1858 in Rostock, the first Germanic Institute in Germany, founded in 1871 and taught in Heidelberg, Germanic and Romance Philology.

The work is to have very low cost in many paperback editions. All who opt for this hardcover edition will be amazed by the beautiful illustrations by Sandro Botticelli, which contains the book and which I shall return later. The book is

it is the main work of Dante Alighieri (1265 - 1321), an allegorical and didactic poem called in 100 songs with 14 230 verses in terza rima, which Dante "Commedia." The writer was convinced that the Commedia contains no less truth than the Bible, however, that this truth dem Leser wie dem Autor selbst verborgen bleibe und man sich ihr letztlich nur bedingt annähern könne, (vgl.: S.21).

Diese bewirken the readers for centuries a never-ending process of interpretation. The reason for this, according to Till R. Kuhnle, that each of these characters, created more characters and that is because everything can be in this world characters, because everyone in a world of empirical genome-Menem measure always falls to a number of symbolic value (see is:. p.24).

In Dante's "Accomplished utopia" according to Kuhn the border-crossing by Odysseus to return home. Kuhn concludes: "All desire and longing are all in danger after surviving a safe haven: the ideal space for the projection since Romanticism has become unmistakable suffering on the Faustian, and repeals anticipated in Dante by the power of love "... (quote p. 26) I agree with this idea, after I read the book,

In the introduction we learn to know Dante's origin and in this context, of course, that he from birth the aristocracy belonged, was therefore privileged. Dante was introduced by Brunetto in Roman literature, and dealt primarily with Virgil. Through lively exchange with fellow poets, he was motivated to write himself. His beloved Beatrice died in 1290 after she had married a few years earlier another. The time of your death coincides with the beginning of his interest in philosophy.

Despite scientific studies Dante and love has always busy with public affairs of his city, it will be well informed in the introduction, (see: 35ff). In the struggle for independence from Florence to the intervention efforts of Pope Boniface VIII Dante entangled in a non-winning success of the opposition, was exiled from Florence and from there led a wandering life. His last years were spent in Ravenna, where he died.

His work, he divides into:
-
Hell - Purgatory
- Paradise

Dante is the way of the sinful soul shows to salvation. The walker is guided by two guides, one part of Virgil, who is the embodiment of reason, science and philosophy is, on the other hand, by Beatrix, the glorified childhood sweetheart, now the symbol of divine grace. Accompanied the poet Virgil through Hell and Purgatory have the earthly paradise. Here he disappears at the time than is visible to Dante Beatrix, (see: p. 45). On his travels he meets by the way many famous dead souls, which he represents in terms of philosophy, theology, politics, government and church thoughtful questions.

Easy to read the texts. They contain a wealth of information that requires the secondary literature to be interpreted really good to.

come from the illustrations in the book a superb manuscript, which represents the joint work of two artists: the calligrapher and painter Nicolò Magnone Sandro Botticelli. Commissioned the work of Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de 'Medici was. He was the second cousin Degree of the famous Lorenzo il Magnifico de 'Medici. We learn how the leaves are once formed, and that few of the leaves heard the planned coloring. The illustrations are the first complete cycle of the "Divina Commedia". Except for "Paradiso XXXI" any song with a full-page illustration was provided, with 35 for the "Inferno", with 22 for the "Purgatorio" and 31 for the "Paradiso". On the pictures you can see coffins hell, naked in tormenting people, those who seek to escape from nasty dragon, naked men in chains and many more depressing scenes. Purgatory is, if one may believe the pictures, not even a picnic and ultimately reflects Dante's texts resist excellent in this regard. However, it is really nice in paradise. Here also there is a ladder to heaven (Paradiso 21) leads, in the divine spheres.

Recommended for lovers of beautiful books.

How Long Does It Take For An Ice Tray To Freeze

Why I do not like KTZ Guttenberg

With "Light" that's such a thing. They were glorified, they are revered and you will forgive anything - even if they contradict each other within a set 2x (which, for example, Franz Beckenbauer and even exploited like too often).

Zu Guttenberg (the man who has more fans than first names, which is already here apparently a performance) is one of these luminaries. Backed by an unprecedented media campaign (here, all of course the resident in his rectum editor of BILD-Zeitung), he developed very quickly became the leader of the "politicians' popularity polls" - and it seemed, could not even he himself to drive out of there . (Let alone the Kunduz affair or the incident on the Gorch Fock ).
The reasons are quite simple: it is rhetorically gifted, attractive (especially when compared to the German political competition), and tirelessly promoted 'credibility'. That he is also still married to an attractive woman who contributes effectively to the image dispersion soldiers in Afghanistan harm, not necessarily.

And now everything is different? Why? Because (according GuttenPlag Wiki ) in his doctoral thesis on 247 of 407 pages are fakes - so he texts of other authors posing as his own, without them (as is usual in scientific work) and Zitate zu kennzeichnen, beziehungsweise deren Quellen anzugeben.

Dann räumte er "fraglos Fehler" ein, verbittet sich aber nachdrücklich "Plagiatsvorwürfe" - denn immerhin könne es ja sometimes happen with such a huge amount of work worked on it in addition to his activities as a politician and an obligation as a young father seven years , setting "a footnote to forget."

Then he organized a ruthlessly embarrassing press conference (which makes him almost human in my eyes because it was just a huge mistake) and does not now "temporarily" to his doctor title. He tirelessly points out, however, that there is currently so probably more problems than talk about his dissertation.

Yes, I see basically the same way. But what I also see is a man who in my opinion nach überhaupt nicht mit Kritik umgehen kann.

- He exudes, "I have no need to expose myself to impertinent demands of earthly small minds!" And this comes to light in the crumbs be a facade not quite as attractive face.

The main argument of his supporters still not available to him ("that has to do with a faulty thesis to qualify for the position of defense?") Moves way. Of course this has nothing to do with the other. But this is not about his qualifications as a minister, but his credibility, precisely what he has always sold as its greatest virtue. And he has lost.

Whether his opponents politically motivated in time (which is mostly likely, for those who have such success, also has a corresponding number of envious in the political spectrum) or scientific (because even students to be punished, the claw her department from the Internet together - so why then not a politician) is entirely secondary. And the words of warning those who compare him to Icarus ("who is flying high, deep"). I am talking solely about the factual allegations of plagiarism on his dissertation. And the masters he very bad, that is not at all. Would he do that but at least on an authentic, human way, he could at least score on the sympathy level. But here he fails (Once again) still impressive.

And that's why I can not KTZ Guttenberg suffer - and not just since the announcement of the "lack of footnotes."

PS. Grandiose way, is also the here

Response Card Wording For Vegetarian Option

review: Laugh, if you are wise - A literary journey from Homer to Beckett-reading book

This primer is divided into two major parts: The first part deals with comic conflict, the second with the theories of laughter.

The comic conflicts are divided into:

curtain! Jester, mocker and minstrels
heavenly laughter
joked at the beginning of the woman
mocked mocker
wit as a weapon
"When` s is the truth? " As fools
Foolish servant Mr.
ridiculous "I'm Carlini" From the comic Tagik
laughter at the abyss
"Not by wrath, but kills you."

This part of the reading text book of Hippocrates, Lucian, Apuleius, Dario For, Homer, Plato, Jean de la Fontaine, Johann Peter Hebel, Giovanni Boccaccio, Sebastian Brant, Erasmus of Rotterdam, William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes, Grimmelshausen, Molière, Denis Diderot, Baudelaire, Friedrich Nietzsche and many others.

The second part, "Theories of Laughter" includes very illuminating passages from Plato, René Descartes, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Nietzsche, Friedrich Georg Jünger, Franz Kafka and Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno, etc.

The epilogue of the Issuer Laetia Rimpau is very instructive with regard to the design of the book, the literary texts of the European culture of laughter imagining. This goes back to antiquity. It's about the questions: "When or what the protagonists in novels or laugh in plays," "When and why breaks out in a poem or a novel in society laughter?" and "What exactly is under To understand spot, comedy or joke? "(quote p. 308)

The editor notes that in the presented texts rarely funny, approaching I can confirm where Nietzsche is in.." Origin the comic "finds that marks the transition from momentary anxiety in short-lasting high spirits as the comic, adding, that the phenomenon of the tragic man quickly changes over from a large, constant high spirits in great fear. Because of the constant high spirits among mortals far fewer than the cause for fear, it would be more comical than tragic in this World, we laugh more often than that one was shaken (see: p. 282).

Friedrich Georg Jünger says that everything funny thing is clear from a conflict, and without this nothing funny inconceivable. Only when we become aware of the conflict, we are able to perceive the comic. Where the states are in dispute could be nothing comical results. Because of the conflict requires its concept for movement, one finds according to disciples in all comedy, a ratio of movement and countermovement. Had been established that the comic has in common with the tragic conflict in the origin, (see: p.293).

Reading Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno one finds include a thought that I would like to quote here because it expresses something essential: "The diabolical laughter of the wrong lies in the fact that even the best, reconciliation mandatory parodied. " (Zitat. page. 304). The false laughter of the entertainment industry becomes an instrument of fraud in the happiness, the two men, one can only agree.

The Greeks argued about sense and nonsense of laughter. While academic philosophers want to banish the buffoon in the comedy, considered Kyniker wie Diogenes von Sinope das Lachen als Welthaltung. Davon berichtet Apuleius in seinen "Metamorphosen". "vividly illustrates

The presented in the book texts seem like a stroll through the laughing History tortured laughter and loud Laughter not indicate Entspanntsein I like what Dario For, says:.." The power, and that every power, fear nothing more than the laughter, the smiles and sarcasm. They are a sign of critical sense, imagination, intelligence, and the opposite of fanaticism "(quote p.318)...

Ein Zeitgenosse wird gefeiert: Kleistjahr 2011

Beautiful is not the gray granite blocks. And birth date on the grave stone Heinrich von Kleist's wrong. Say at least authoritative Kleist researchers, and the poet himself had his birthday on 10 Celebrated in October. It also kept his admirers turned up to 1876, a church book entry. Thus Kleist came only eight days later in Frankfurt / Oder to the world. Even official documents can be wrong, but in the Nazi era, when the grave stone was renewed, such doubts were not wanted: The 18th October 1777 was set in stone. Review: The Famous - Greek writer-reader

Rainer Nickel is in this book the Greek Aesop, Aeschylus, Archilochus, Aristophanes, Aristotle, Demosthenes, Epicurus, Euripides, Herodotus, Hesiod, Hippocrates, Homer, Callimachus, Menander, Pindar, Plato, Plutarch, Sappho, Sophocles , Theocritus, Thucydides and Xenophon before.

be for each of such persons' name, biographical data, the literary genre in which they moved and the works listed above. Then we learn who was the person what they wrote and how the works of individual writers were handed down. How are the works by each of them continued to live and what geblieben ist, wird auch immer genannt.

Interesting to know that this play was performed in a critical situation during a war for Athens. At that time, democracy was suspended. At this time there was an emergency government. Although the piece with the foreign and domestic political circumstances of those days is related, but it is intelligible in themselves, not for the "Peloponnesian War" alone, but the war as such the issue, (see: p. 33) . I'm from the excellent summary of the works Aristioteles. The author has succeeded in a few pages the reader thinking of the great philosophers to get close and its ethical Considerations explain well understood. No easy task.

I like that you have cited the following thoughts of Aristotle, to be read at the beginning of his "metaphysics", "All men by nature seek to know .. This is evident because it senses the very high eighth;. because they are valued, irrespective of its value high, and for others especially the vision for not only to act, but also where we plan to do nothing, we give the look of all the senses to some extent the advantage of the ground. for this is that we have this sensation most to enable them to gain knowledge and also opens up a lot of differences "(quote p. 47).

Especially in the age of Internet communication should be the thought of Aristotle, lead again in mind the effect may in dialogue with a third party the fact that this is not. can see significant misperceptions of the other person and, unfortunately, tensions in virtual discussions held.

Epicurus, whose texts I have written a review is very well outlined.

As part of Euripides considerations will be fine with his "Iphigenia in Aulis" familiar. It the motives of the author explained why he wrote the work. As you read Euripides wanted to make aware in the first place the decision situation of the commander Agamemnon in their inevitability and cruelty, (see: p. 70).

very well you will be informed about the life and works of Hippocrates. I was not aware that he has written such a large number of fonts. His oldest and most important are mentioned in the book and explain briefly what is in the individual texts. "The Hippocratic Oath" can be read in a translation by Hans Diller, (see: p. 91).

Homer and his works "Iliad" and "Odyssey" one becomes acquainted with and experience in this context, what is meant by the dactylic hexameter has. interesting to read what you said May Horkheimer and Adorno Theordor in their Dialectic of Enlightenment "in reference to Homer's Odysseus, (see: p. 101).

It is impossible for 22 over all authors that are illuminated in the book, write something on this. I especially appreciated by Plato and his works are impressive distinction to the reader. Forgetting is not the explanation of the "cave allegory" because one should look on the conscious in its cognitive value. The "Symposium" is summarized by the way impressive, the dialogue Phaedo is well represented.

Thinking in ideas is an essential element of the Platonic philosophy. After Plato's idea of man has in itself a knowledge of the "words", and "shapes". This knowledge has the consequence that one can perceive the multiplicity of phenomena differences. This is due to learned that the soul can be seen in their pre-existence of the "idea" of "equality" and think, has (vgl.S 128).

Delighted I am that the beloved of me, Plutarch is one of the 22 authors listed in the book and that his "Moralia" has given a focus. In his double biography "aims to Plutarch from the private, personal, mundane and unspectacular. His program of "Synanthropie," the willingness to live as a man among men, describes a property that the modern development of psychology as a "we-intentionality to act together" and is the constituting as the characteristic of man is considered, (see: S . 138). In a globalized world, Plutarch is therefore as current as almost 2,000 years ago.

gives a good overview to get in Hnblick to the works of Sophocles, specifically to "Antigone" and "Oedipus Rex".

About the poet Sappho we learn among other things, that she wrote her poems in the Aeolian dialect and their verses in nine books were collected in the library of Alexandria. You learn about poem fragments including the one where it focuses on the physical symptoms of passion. "... Because if I only look at short, I put no sound out, my tongue has failed me, once I trickle a gently burning fire under the skin ,..", (see: p. 143) .

If you read the poem fragment, it is clear that does not change under the sun, mainly the emotional life of our people do not.
